Dear Beirut Blogging!
I would like to inform you about a recent book published which deals primarily with my father's experiences as a businessman, and our family's experiences, in Beirut 1974-75. The outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War then forced us to leave a city with which we had all fallen in love. The book is entitled "To Beirut and Back -An American in the Middle East by Abe F. March. The book recounts - among other things - how my father got to learn a new culture, how he learned to adjust, our experiences with the people and the city and includes the final months before we left in November 1975, including being shot at and my parent's abduction at gunpoint by one of the warring factions. see Amazon (edited my moderator) |
