On the morning of December 12, 2007, Brigadier General Francois Hajj was assassinated in Baabda, Lebanon by Car Bomb near the Municipality of Baabda.
Brigadier General Francois Hajj was Nominated to the position of Head of Army, as Successor to General Suleiman, who is to be elected President of Lebanon.
Military prosecutor Rashid Mezher says after examining the explosion site that the car used in the bombing was an olive green BMW - 1978 model and that the bomb weighed 35 kilograms of TNT.
