Tere was parking meters in Beirut in the early '70. They got looted in 1975.
How to rage against the machine? I think the obvious answer is F*** u i wont do what u tell me
what is the world coming to?what's next?respecting red lights? burning red lights and speeding is part of our culture, i say abolish all mark of civilization.chaos is beautifull ;)
There was trafic lights in Beirut & outside Beirut (Antelias, Tripoli etc...) until 1975 and pepole used to respect them because policemen used to hand out tickets. No, chaos is not part of our culture. We are human beings who acquired bad habits and Lebanon needs some basic law inforcement. The same chaos would have happened in any place without an effective police force.
This is like Pakistan having "toll roads". What a joke and a what a way to fleece money off people. This is like the highway robbery in the bedouin days of old.
Once a tax is levied it is never repealed.
If people could make some descent money in Lebanon, than i would say sure why not have parking meters, but for god sake its a war torn failing nation.
many online sources are saying that those parking meters are the first since the civil war... but nobody who lived in beirut during the civil war can ever remember any parking meter existing. any thoughts?
do you have a site to check if I have fine ? because I paid about 12 tickets some are 10,000 and some about 40,000LL .
I called the employee she shsid still 5 tickets ,and it will cost me 200,000 LL!! i BELIVE THERE IS A MISTAKE . Can you help ? regards |
