I concur with kheireddine: the governement under then president amin gemayel imposed a daily curfew in Beirut 1983 while trying (unsuccessfully) to suppress an Amal and PSP led anti-government insurgency
Curfew seems like a good idea. Does it have to be imposed?
I like the idea of a Lebanese airforce and Lebanese army. Whatever happened to those Mirages? Did they evaporate? What the hell? How come your army didnt do anything for those long years when Hizballa built their own state in the south and your army didnt dare to go there?

The last curfew was declared by Sluyman Frangiet minister in the karamet goverment during the anti-syrian sit in last year (2005). They were not respected, around a thousand people stayed in the square and the next day the goverment resigned during the parlement session.
The 10 (or 12) Dassault Mirage III were sold as spareparts to Pakistan's Mirage III fleet. During the civil war they were sctoked in Riyak air base in the Bekaa valley. Hope the current foolsheness will end soon. Regards
