the evening of the 3rd of December is Berbara in Lebanon
youths dress up in costumes and go around singing songs door to door in return, they are given treats, traditionally a 'boiled wheat dish' flavored with rose water [2ameh el berbara], and then sent off with money in their pockets... on a good night... one can make over 100,000 LL [66 USD]      photos taken on the eve of the 3rd of December 2006 in Mount Lebanon, Lebanon ...whilst the demonstrators hold their positions. and you're right; life in lebanon never stops. I was chatting with my cousin in leb on msn and she suddenly goes "i gotta go we are going to monot for drinks." awesome.
