I was very surprised today to be stopped by a police patrol in nahr el mot (baabdath highway) for over speeding, there was another dozen of cars waiting to get a ticket! they were stopping almost everyone! AND they had a very professional in-car radar! Can you believe it ??
hmmm is that the effect of the new president? hope that they will keep the material in good shape, and use it at midnight when most accidents happen instead of at noon.
i wish... i think it's just that time of the month when the quotas need to be met :P
Thats why I can hardly get a drivers license outside of Lebanon. We have so much bad habits.
so there i was getting a drivers license in the states, when the big lady testing me asks me why i'm doing 20 in a 30 zone (which had stop signs every 50 meters). so i say, well 30 is the speed limit, to which she responds with 'yes, so why aren't you doing 30?' to which i responded with 'cause 30 is the limit'... i almost failed. hehe
ahhhh, the good ol' metn highway. from baabdat to the coast in 15 minutes ... and unbeatable views along the way.
What a rip-off : the only summer I don't go to Lebanon is the summer of the century ... yel3an 7azze
true, but the destroyed the last remaining forest of el metn, overlooking beirut, along their path... and i think they did it deliberately or at the very least consciously.
