BBC is broadcasting news today of a demonstration in Beirut by children against the humanitarian outrage.
Grim news about the Indian UN peace keepers.
There are stories going around the net and various news sources about the first round of UN people. They say that the UN phoned Israeli government officials to point out that the bombing was too close. This happened over HOURS. It seems as if the Israelis couldn't stop it happening, either because communications were down or maybe some insubordination. Strange to hear this on BBC radio, after so much ranting from Israeli spokespeople telling us that Hizbollah won't agree to anything and aren't available for negotiation. A Hisbollah spokesman (calm, reasonable sounding guy) said this afternoon that he thought Israel wanted a ceasefire but that the USA WOULDN'T LET THEM. This implies that Dubya's gang want Israel to crush their opponents or to give them an excuse to go after Syria and Iran. Scarey.
