most news agencies are writing about the clashes between the government and the opposition

but that's not news, it's what everybody expected...

... Blogging Beirut, however, is reporting the real news: the empty streets and lovely 5 minute drive to work that would have taken 30 minutes on any other day.

i wish everything was so black and white...

the general labor (the general & allies)
strike (terror strike)
is a success (the economy is booming)

traffic (leb facebook traffic is up 50%)
is non-existent
and the country (mosaic)is at a standstill (taken hostage)

it started off as a labor strike... but there are lots of opportunists in this country.

200 USD minimum wage since the mid-90s with cost of living rise over the same period of around 200%

but again, we usually miss the forest for the tree

ok, so no more traffic, that's nice....but there is still fighting going on between the opposition and the pro-government in different parts of beirut...not so nice. khalas ba2a wlo, we need to stop all this aweful chaos going on in Lebanon, we've all had enough. i hope this all stops and they can re-open the airport soon!!
