Yesterday (Night of February 7, 2007):
an Armored Israeli Army Bulldozer crossed the Lebanese Border into the area of Maroun el Ras.  (click to see more photos of Maroun el Ras: link 1 ; map (southern-most blue block)) The Lebanese Army opened fire on the crossing Israeli Army Bulldozer. An exchange of fire took place. Shortly thereafter, the Israeli Army Bulldozer retreated back into Israel. Did you see the new ad on the north side of the Chopsticks Bldg,Dbayeh, it has a big I (heart) Beirut across the lower part of the ad. FYI.

there was another in downtown beirut, seems the idea is carrying through. maybe we did accomplish something this past summer with the whole I Heart Beirut awareness... if the Mainstream Media picked it up. After all, Imitation is the most sincere form of Flattery.

This is off-topic but do you remember when you posted a few weeks ago about the female to male ration in lebanon...do you have any sources about that ? [it's for a project ] gracias -k
there's a lot of talk about it in the press. the figures arent always the same, or even figures per se, but rather statements of the odd ratio and its impact on the lifestyle. i'd start off with the article that came out after Ramadan about the Wild Lebanese women. I believe I posted it here, so go back through the calendar to that time of the year. pax
