Downtown Beirut Exhibit
I saw this post today on bloggingbeirut.com. There is a new exhibit in downtown Beirut now showing pictures of innocent people hurt in the current war in the Middle East. It is a compelling display of photos that tear at
The Independant along with the Save the Children organization in the UK are starting a fund raising campaign for the Children in Lebanon. Here are the Links for the article and the donations.
I heard on the news here that the Israeli's are going to intensify the bombings of Beirut and bomb a bigger perimeter there :( I wish that the international community will wake up and help put an end to this.
I hope you guy’s stay safe and your spirits will stay unbroken I amazing to see how you cope with this horror around you. Keep up the good work :)
The specially commissioned ‘symphonic poem’ performed at the opening night of the Jameel Gallery was “Synergy”, composed by Lebanese Oussama Rahbani. Roumanian conductor Ion Marin led the London Philharmonic Orchestra with specialist Lebanese musicians and the London Philharmonic Choir.'
Lebanese artists flew to London in spite of the aerial bombardment (except for 4 of them, who were scared to leave their families.)
Strange that you won't find anything about this on the net. I wonder if the LPO and LPC are scared of falling out with rich Jewish donors. (Sorry that was a cynical and not very peaceful thought.)
"...in-shalla..." ONE DAY I WILL COME TO LEBANON AND SEE HER BEAUTIFULL FACE,FEEL THE SOFT TOUCH OF HER OCEAN BREEZE AND WET MY LIPS WITH HER ICE COLD TEARS THAT COME ROLLING DOWN FROM HER PEAKS."...in-shalla..." I WILL BE BLESSED ONE DAY WITH A MOMENT OF INTIMACY, HER AND I ALONE.AS I GAZE INTO THE STARS AS IF THEY WHERE HER BRIGHT EYES AND BREATHE HER PINE SENTED AIR AS IF IT WERE HER BREATH."...in-shalla..." WHEN MY "ONE STEP CLOSER TO DEATH",
HAS BECOME MY LAST . SHE WOULD WRAP HERSELF AROUND ME EVER SO LOVINGLY AND I WOULD DISSOLVE INTO HER ROOTS SPROUTING INTO AN EAGER SAPLING. HER HEAVENLY RAINS AND WARM
SUNSHINE SMILES AND I WILL GROW TO BE TALL AND STRONG. FOREVER WILL I BE PROTECTED BY ALL WHO STAND WITH ME AND SEE ME."...in-shalla..." HER STRONG DARK ROOTED GREEN HAIR,WHICH IS KNOWN TO US AS THE "CEDARS"
WILL NEVER GREY.
Thank you for the great news. I knew from Oussama Rahbani anout the planned concert, I asked about attending the event , as I am not leaving in Lebanon, but the V& A they said that is a private event. Then Oussama said that only people list on the list can attend it. On 3rd of July I went to Romania, and after what happend to Oussama (the attack) and because of the war it was impossible to contact him.I was wondering if he made it or not.....but good to know that this had happend.
I am so happy, as a Romanian, the the conductor worked it out with Oussama. Now I am in New York and v difficult to get in touch with lebanon, in order to congratulate him. Do you have any other details about that??You can send me an e-mail if you please.
Thank you for posting the news.....
Yeah, well there isn't that many people out on the streets either, hmm, i wonder why? Maybe it's the threat of an Isreali shell/bomb dropping down on your ass...the memorial is a beautiful display of the horror we inflict on children with our uncaring use of war to solve our disputes.
Hey fink, thanks for showing me the real shit thats going on over there, it's kinda filtered over here, with all "Talking Heads" putting their two-cents in.

you are a sick person...have you not been watching the news and seeing the numbers?? are you that brainwashed?? when 400 kids have been killed in 3 weeks you can make a comment like that...that is just like saying the holocaust was a big lie
Gee, I guess the streets in Tel Aviv are not showing any signs of bombs either (YET)
As all zonists in the world, you're nothing but a heartless person ...

No, I DEFINITELY REMEMBER 9-11-2001, however, there was no Fucking warning, there was no diplomatic intervention, there was no "U.N." resolution, and I was at work like everybody else watching the nearby TV saying "Oh shit now WTF?".
Now I see this shit going on over there(Lebanon) and on the FOXNEWS and wondering where the hell are all our 60"s Hippies gone, with all their "Peace Love &
Happiness"...Oh yeah that's right, they're fighting for power in the next election to see who can fuck over the colored(and by that i mean any one not of their race)
people and yet forward their agenda. OH YEAH MIDDLE EASTERN PEOPLE welcome to DEMOCRACY! sorry for another disallusioned american RANT but I'm tired and it's late, the irs has fckd with my pay for the last month and i'm just glad at the end of the day i can go home to my family and kiss my . two girls and wife goodnight.
I really wish I could do more for you poor Lebanon, but my wiccan hands can only pray for you. BLESSED BE! "GREYRAVEN"
