lets just remember who started this whole mess. The Lebanese people need to understand that the Hizbollah harm them. Israeli citizens need to be able to live in peace too.
Blaming one over the other is not and will never be a solution.
Israel has done this before. They invaded Lebanon in 82 to get rid of the PLO. They are doing the same thing now to get rid of Hizbollah.
You know what the definition of stupidity is? It’s doing the same thing over and over again expecting different outcomes.
They really need to stop the bloodshed on both sides. But you can rest assured that this Israeli action that's supposedly only surgically targeting Hizbollah will create more headaches for Israelis in the long run. It’s a very irresponsible/emotional act by them, and the cost for which will be paid over so many years to come.
Dear Israeli people, and most of all dear Lebanese people that are dreaming about peace with Israel.
Check out this message i just received from certainly a US brainwashed dude or an Israeli guy. These people really inspire trust and love...
That was his reply to the pics of the massacred children, where i said: Are these terrorists? Here's what the dude said:
"Are these terrorists??" the answer is yes. Why? Because they are brought up to want to be suecide bombers, and kill people. when raised in that mentality, and you accept it, you are a terrorist no matter what age. None of this would be happening if the arab countries really wanted peace in co-existance. They only believe in a muslem world. everyone else can die according to them.
And that was my answer:
Thank you for your deep and profound response, we the Lebanese people appreciate. The political world needs analysts like you.Can you please send me your CV?
I can certainly understand if that ignorant person was from the U.S., where I'm writing from. We Americans have had 20, 30, 40 years to learn about the history of the Middle East, and we've still not taken the opportunity to understand why things happen and what the motivations of the conflicting parties are. It's absolutely inexcusable. We're totally brainwashed by the media here, who only show us what they think we should see. I wonder, if ordinary Americans knew about the exploitation and political manipulation carried out by the imperial powers over the last century that has resulted in so much death and bloodshed in the Middle East, whether we'd feel the unconditional support for Israel that most Americans do. I doubt it.
Agree with anonymous (21:32) for the most part, not sure the majority of Americans support Israel. It's hard to determine when they take polls of 1000 people, which is a negligible portion of the population of Chicago alone let alone the whole country, don't release the demographics (rural , urban, western, midwestern, eastern, etc), rarely tell you the question and skew the results.eg. 43% think whatever is wrong, 22% are undecided, 35% think what ever is a great idea - it comes out 43% disagree with whatever, and 55% don't. Hello - that's not what the statistics say. Besides, 1000 people is hardly a representative number of the customers in two Starbucks, let alone the country as a whole.
In the US you get much different reactions depending on where you are in the country. The south tends to be more patriotic and "go get the terrorists". The east coast people are terrified and want the government to protect them at all costs. The west wants to be left alone and the midwest wants everyone to get along and quit spying on us in the name of fear. (Obviously this is not a hard and fast rule) but I think generally it's fairly accurate.
But he/she is right, it's always been our problem with wars and interventions, we never bother to understand the culture of the people before we go there. Surprise surprise, we don't get greeted with flowers and parades. I think most of the potential collateral damage (the citizens) of the US could easily have guessed that wouldn't happen in Iraq, but not the crowd we have in Washington, or they knew and didn't care, which is worse.
Now we (the U.S.) are offering "humanitarian aid" to Lebanon, while at the same time killing them with American made missiles and bombs. It couldn't get much more ridiculous and hypocritical than that. If we had any sense in this country, Bush's approval rating would be ZERO.
Many of those "attacks" are actually missile launches that failed. The Katushya rocket has a 5-20% failure rate depending upon environmental conditions ( cleanliness of weapons, aim, general mechanical failure and haste of aim). Yes, I know, it's Israel's fault for those failures........
My question is what was the point of Rice stopping in Beirut? My guess is she had to make it look good, she must have just completely depressed the governemnt. Bet her real reason is to confirm the weapon order from Israel and find out what their time table is so they can all be on message.
How horrible for the Lebanese governement. How terribly disappointin. Really makes you want to go through all the horrors you have to endure to have a democracy, only to have the chanpion of democracy Bush, kick you in the face. I hope the Iraquis are watching, they can expect the same.
I have no faith in any government on either side of this conflict. Because I know that the average citizen is always at the very bottom of their priority list. Doesn't matter where you're from. That's just the reality of it. It's all a big brainwash. The only person in this godforsaken world who had any common sense was John Lennon, God rest his soul.
not just that ... how much are they sending to help the lebaness 30 milllion dollars that they have to pay back with interest probably;... usually like that...
30 million thats a joke. really it is.. that would what maybe fix the bridge the israely destroyed...? maybe...
and really what will be the point to fix anything right now.. its gonna get blown up again.
the only thing they could do with that money is give the ones with nothign a little food and water and some clothing... but will that even make it in...?: when israel is bombing any truck road or whatever else. thats is moving...
and if the government supposidly support hezbola dont you think they will just give them the money which also makes no sense...???
why arent israel attacking syria...???? if they are the ones supporting hezbola or what about iran ... thats all i hear about iran iran syria syria hates israel wants to see israel dead.. i never heard once on the news lebanon saying this but yet who does israel destroy....????
you know why they did this not because hezbola is sending rockets from lebanon its because lebanon couldnt fight back like syria or iran.. so it shows israel the big dog is picking again and again on the little cat palestine and lebanon.... because its easy for them to do so....
man i remember picking on the kids that were 8 years younger then me .. id pick them up and throw them across the room because i could and they couldnt do anything back... until the day his older brother who was bigger then me did it to me... i learnt tht day.. what it felt like to be that little child. and completely stoped doing it.. and guess what the older brother left me alone... and i actually started looking out for those little kids who got picked on by other idiots like myself.
have a one sided track mind and youll never learn ...
sorry i know that was off topic but hey ...
this is for jay i hear ya its hard to have faith in somethign that spoils easily but do remember the ones that came up with this type of gov the originals had in mind the people this is why they had given us full power to stop our gov if they did what we didnt want them too.
you cant just turn your head around and expect if i dont see it then it wont happen no thats what they want for us to distance ourself from this gov so then they can do what they want... speak up speak out agaisnt what you dont agree with... teach people who dont know .. just dont be hatefull about it or they wont listen or they will listen to the wrong thing and become hatefull which is also what they want.
I will say this r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w-l-y so that you might u-n-d-e-r-s-t-a-n-d.
