Movie Reviews  it's 10:30 PM - Wednesday April 30 2008 a friend had called me earlier to ask me if i wanted to see Iron Man. "hell yeah! no self respecting geek would miss out on such an opportunity!" so there i was at 10:30 PM standing in front of the theater, chatting up the Samsung lady in a skirt - a Lebanese University student she is - when the tickets showed up, and in we went... after a gummi bears and coke run (no not that kind of coke)... a couple of "skito jameee3an" comments is what it took - seems the crowd were fans. the movie itself... well, it's Robert Downey Jr. and Pepper - Gwyneth Paltrow pepper that is euffff shou awiyye hal bint - and the Bad Guy, what's his name, who looks like my uncle - no no the other bad guy, the bad bad guy. (movie breakdown and rating after the jump) effects: fantastic - lots of metal - no plastic rubbery feel
plot: complete but short on story - you get to the end wanting more, but not asking any questions acting: top notch for a sci-fi flick - seriously, this is what spiderman and superman should have been. cast: perfect - everyone fills their shoes snuggly unlike the recent gay superman and daft spiderman lebanese factor: this is hilarious, cause the bad dudes speak fluent intelligible arabic, but appear to be located in afghanistan (or the like) where the common language is persian / farsi, which makes for another attempt by hollywood at stereotyping arabs as terrorists. it's fun to watch cause you feel intelligent being able to watch the foreign language parts of the movie without reading the captions :) rating: 8.5 / 10 tags: fink's review, lebanese, lebanon, iron man, movie, beirut, abc, city mall, spiderman, superman, film review, movie review -finkployd- Fink's Review on Blogging Beirut
